Mothers & Babies

Compassion

Even before they are born, millions of children in the developing world must fight for their lives. Malnutrition and disease are their enemies. Many of the babies who do survive childbirth do not make it to their 5th birthday. Each day, more than 25,000 infants and toddlers perish mostly from preventable causes. Through Compassion’s Child Survival Program, local churches reach out to their communities’ expectant mothers and caregivers of young, at-risk children, providing critical interventions and assistance. Just outside of Jakarta, Indonesia in the Kampung Sawah community, Compassion is opening the doors to a new Child Survival Program and students at Passion 2010 will be challenged to fund and sustain this new project by becoming a monthly partner or giving a one-time gift.

Goal

100 students x $20 monthly support the Kampung Sawah Community
