The world has more than 850 million chronically hungry people and that number is growing by nearly 4 million every year. While the world’s hungry are of all ages and places, above all it is the children, women and rural communities who are most affected by hunger. Feed My Starving Children has created a simple mixture of dried rice, soy, 20 vitamins & minerals, and dehydrated vegetables that provide the key nutrients a child needs to survive and thrive. Each meal cost only 17 cents to produce and is easily shipped around the world. At Passion 2010, 500 students will participate in packaging 100,000 meals during the conference. Each of the 500 students are encouraged to give $35 to help cover the cost of the food.
500 students x $35 = 100,000 meals packaged and shipped around the globe.
