HIV/AIDS

World Vision

Every 14 seconds a child is orphaned by AIDS; over 15 million children have already lost one or both parents to the disease. World Vision is on the front lines in Africa serving those with AIDS, feeding the hungry, raising up leaders, educating a generation of children, and providing practical needs in the face of this tragedy. At Passion2010 students will have the opportunity to walk in the shoes of a child affected by AIDS by journeying through the Step Into Africa exhibit. In response students will be challenged to sponsor 200 children in Mugeba-Sede, Mozambique, a community severely affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis. Passion 2010 students will also have the opportunity to assemble and pray over 1,000 World Vision Caregiver Kits (free!) which are a valuable tool placed directly in the hands of dedicated African volunteers who provide comfort and care for those in their local community living with HIV/AIDS.

Goal

200 students x $35 monthly sponsorship of a child in Mozambique

1000 students = assemble and pray over 1000 Caregiver Kits
