Life in war-torn Afghanistan is difficult for anyone, but for a child suffering from cleft lip or palate it becomes a living nightmare. A child with a disfiguring condition is shunned and rejected. He is confined to his family’s home. Without the ability to get proper nourishment, the risk of death is great. But across Afghanistan, the news is spreading that there is hope for children afflicted by cleft lip and palates! The CURE International Hospital of Kabul began offering surgery for these children two years ago and have given new smiles to over 1,000 children! You can be part of making this transformation happen for the next 100 children in Afghanistan. In order to perform these surgeries, 1,100 students at Passion 2010 will be challenged to give $50 to help cover the cost of these surgeries for children. You can do something now that will ensure a child in Afghanistan not only has a great smile but truly smiles because they know their lives have been changed forever.
1,100 students x $50 = 100 surgeries
