Our love for God must be a response to His love for us.

God has made the first move.

God’s love is not based on our:
performance
success
self-worth
faithfulness
religious acts
appearance
ability
achievement
effort
deeds
intentions.

God’s love is based on His perfect love alone.

You are loved by God.

It says so on the cross of Jesus Christ.

You have loved us first, O God! We speak of it in terms of history as if You have only loved us first but a single time, rather than without ceasing You have loved us first many times and every day and our whole life through.
